SNCS Ladies’ Tea Is Delightful!

Reported By Rene Averett

Seven ladies of the Sierra Nevada Celtic Society gathered for a Ladies Only Tea at The Isles in May.  This was a first tea for the group and it was a wonderful success!  It was an extremely pleasant late Saturday morning when Mrs. Bagley, Mrs. Davidson, Ms. Britt, Ms. Rice, Mrs. Healy, Ms. Kelly and Ms. Averett  sat down in the very lovely garden at the Isles to take tea.

Serving the traditional tea, proprietress Terri McCormack provided delicious finger sandwiches such as cucumber, roast beef, egg and cream cheese.  She also offered a lovely assortment of scones, shortbread cookies and chocolate covered strawberries.  Mrs. Bagley poured tea for her end of the table, while Ms. Britt poured for the southern end.  Our server, Daniel Lyons kept a steady supply of tea flowing as we all indulged.

Topped off with sparkling conversation, the tea was an absolute delight for all.  Ms. Kelly and Ms. Averett sported spring hats for the occasion and it sparked some conversation about forming a hat society within the organization that would gather regularly for tea.  A few possible names were bandied about but no decision was made.

The next Tea is planned for September 18, 2010 at The Isles.  All of our Sierra Nevada Celtic Society ladies are welcome to attend, but please notify Mrs. Bagley if you plan to attend so we can assure enough seating and food.    More details will be on the SNCS web site and  on the SNCS Facebook page.
